For broadcasters
Your station, on your terms
If you run a radio station and found it listed in World Radio, this page answers the three questions that matter: how it got here, what actually happens when somebody presses play, and how to have the listing corrected or removed. All three answers are short.
What World Radio Player is
World Radio is a directory and a player: a Chrome extension and this website, both built on the same catalogue of 20,000+ live stations from every country. The pitch to listeners is the world's radio in one player. The pitch to you is simpler: we send your station listeners, and the connection those listeners make is to you, not to us.
We are not a rebroadcaster, an aggregation service that resells streams, or a platform you need an account on. We host no audio, run no relay, and have no server that your stream passes through. What we built is the player and the way the directory is organised inside it.
How your station got here
The directory comes from radio-browser.info, an open community database of radio stations that anybody can add to and anybody can correct. It records the stream addresses that stations publish publicly: the same URL your own website's listen button points at, or that you registered with a directory yourself. If your station is in that database with a public stream address, it appears in World Radio, along with the name, country, language and logo address the database holds for it.
We take that directory as data and we take it as it comes. We do not crawl for hidden streams, probe servers, or list anything that was not already published as a public listening address. When the community database is wrong about your station, our copy is wrong the same way, which is why the correction route below exists.
What happens when somebody presses play
The listener's own device connects directly to your stream server, the same as if they had typed your stream URL into their browser. That is the whole design. We host nothing, cache no audio, re-encode nothing, and rebroadcast nothing. There is no proxy, no relay and no middle box: at no point does your audio touch a server of ours, because we do not have one that could touch it.
The practical consequences run in your favour. Every listener who arrives through World Radio shows up in your own server logs and your own analytics as a direct connection, because that is what they are. Your listener counts are yours. Your stream-inserted advertising and announcements reach every one of those listeners untouched, because nothing sits between your encoder and their speaker. A listener we send you is indistinguishable from one who found your stream any other way, and that is by design.
Your name and logo
Your station's name and logo appear in World Radio for exactly one purpose: so a listener can tell which station is which. That is nominative use, the same way a programme guide prints channel names. Nothing in the product says or implies that any station endorses, sponsors or is affiliated with World Radio, because none is. Your marks stay yours.
One technical note for completeness: station logos in the directory are small favicon-sized images, and we rehost copies of them purely so that lists load fast and your own web server is not hit for an icon on every scroll. That is a performance cache, nothing more. The originals and all rights in them remain the broadcaster's property, and a removal request removes the cached copies with the listing.
Correcting your listing
Wrong stream URL, an old name, a dead logo address, the wrong country or language: email admin@momentumlab.ai with the station name and what should change, and we correct it. If you have a better logo or a new stream address, send it in the same message.
Where the underlying record is wrong, we also push the correction upstream to radio-browser.info where appropriate, so the fix holds in the source database rather than only in our copy, and every other player that uses the directory inherits it. You can also edit the database directly at radio-browser.info yourself; it is open to everyone, including the stations it lists.
Removal on request
Any broadcaster can have their station removed from World Radio Player on both doors, the Chrome extension and this website. Email admin@momentumlab.ai from an address at a domain matching the station, or from the contact address published on the station's own site, name the station, and say you want it out. That is the entire process. We do not ask why, we do not argue, and we do not require forms, forwarded IDs or legal letterhead. The domain check exists only so a rival cannot delist you.
Removals are actioned promptly, and where appropriate we flag the entry upstream at radio-browser.info as well, so the removal sticks at the source instead of resurfacing from the next directory snapshot. Your stream stays exactly where it always was, on your own server, under your own control; the only thing that changes is that World Radio stops pointing at it.
Contact
Everything on this page goes through one address: admin@momentumlab.ai. Put the station name in the subject line. A person reads it, answers from Sydney, Australia, usually within one business day, and has the access to act on it. World Radio is published by MomentumLab AI Pty Ltd of Sydney, Australia.
