The whole directory

A real instrument
A ten band equalizer and a spectrum wall
The equalizer is a genuine ten band filter chain with eight presets, and the LED wall reads the actual audio through a log spaced analyser. When a stream will not allow analysis the wall says so instead of inventing motion.
The deck
A spectrum wall that only lights up when there is something to read
Twenty four columns, sixteen segments each, peak hold dots that fall at their own rate. It is driven by the audio itself through a log spaced analyser, so the columns mean something.
Roughly half the stations on the internet serve their stream in a way a browser will not let anyone analyse. On those, the wall runs a slow light show and the header lamp softens to a pulse to say so. It is never presented as a measurement of sound it cannot hear.
Finding something
Nine curated shelves, and a search that reaches the whole directory
Music, News, Talk, Sports, Jazz, Classical, Dance, Chill and Retro. A shelf is a lens, not a cut down list: hand picked stations sit at the top, and everything else follows in popularity order. Compose a shelf with a country or a language and you get that country's whole slice.
The count line above the list always says what is actually listed and playable, never what a directory claims exists.
