Antenne Vorarlberg

Out of 103 entries in Austria, this one ranks 8. The upper quarter of a national list is an interesting place to be: well known enough to have accumulated opens, not so well known that it is the station everybody already had.

Antenne Vorarlberg reports no bitrate to the directory. Rather than print a zero or invent an average, the page says nothing, which is the same policy every empty field on this site gets.

Antenne Vorarlberg streams in AAC while most of Austria's dial is MP3. Codec choice is mostly invisible to a listener, and it is one of the clearest fingerprints of which hosting provider a station uses, since providers default their customers into a format and few customers ever change it.

The stream address on this entry points at web.radio.antennevorarlberg.at, which is where 11 other stations in Austria are served from as well. Platforms of that size carry the long tail of a country's dial, and they are the reason a listing can look broken when it is one host having a quiet hour.

The broadcaster publishes at antennevorarlberg.at, on Austria's own country domain. A national domain is a small piece of evidence that the station is what the directory says it is, since these are the harder ones to register from somewhere else.
