depechemode.be

Position 42 of 122 puts this station in the middle of Belgium's directory presence. The middle is worth browsing precisely because the ordering has stopped sorting by fame and has not yet stopped sorting at all.

This is a English station in a country whose directory presence is led by Dutch. 12 entries in Belgium broadcast in English, which is a small group and a coherent one, and browsing it is a different experience from browsing the country.

Where else English is on air, according to the same snapshot: mostly United States, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom. The shelf lists all 5,984 of them together, which is the view a country hub cannot give.

depechemode.be is the only station in Belgium whose first tag is depeche mode, out of 122 with pages here. Tags come from the broadcasters themselves, so this says the station describes itself in a way no other entry in Belgium does, which is a narrower and more honest claim than saying it is the country's only depeche mode station.

The stream is served from c2.radioboss.fm:8494, which no other entry in Belgium uses in this snapshot. Nothing else in the listing shares its fate: if this address stops answering it is this broadcaster's own outage, and if it plays, it plays.
