New Classical FM

In Canada's ordering this is number 81 of 259, which is the middle of the list. The stations either side of it are a better guide to what the country sounds like than the head of the list is, because the head is the same few famous streams in every country.

The open count against New Classical FM is four, which is enough to know the stream has been played through the directory and not enough to compare it with anything. Small counts are the normal case out here, and a ranking built from them separates stations by luck as much as by interest.

No language is recorded against this station. The field is optional in the public directory and a great many entries skip it, so an empty language says nothing about what you will hear when you press play. It does keep the station off the language shelves, since a shelf built on guesses would be worse than a shelf with holes.

At 128 kbps the stream is on the better side of Canada's dial, where the median is 96 kbps. Not dramatically so, and bitrate is only one of several things that decide whether a stream sounds good, but it is the one the directory records.

New Classical FM streams from prod-18-204-34-32.amperwave.net. No other station in Canada is served from that address, and across the whole directory it appears one time in total.
