Radio Platinum Fm

Rank 64 of 75 in Ecuador. What that mostly measures is how many people have already found the station through this directory, which is a poor proxy for anything else and an honest one to publish.

The open count against Radio Platinum Fm is one, which is enough to know the stream has been played through the directory and not enough to compare it with anything. Small counts are the normal case out here, and a ranking built from them separates stations by luck as much as by interest.

Among 75 stations in Ecuador here, this is the only one that puts adult contemporary first. The adult contemporary rail below therefore leaves the country entirely, which is the more interesting direction to travel from a page like this.

Radio Platinum Fm streams at 32 kbps against Ecuador's median of 128, which is less than half the local norm. On a dial where 53% of stations reach 128 kbps, a rate this low stands out, and it usually means either a speech station that never needed more or an encoder that has not been touched in years.

Its audio comes straight from streamingecuador.com:8160, an address unique to this entry in Ecuador's listing. That is the simplest case there is, and it is the one where pressing play tells you the whole truth about whether the station is on air.
