Jazz & Classique

Jazz & Classique sits in the tail of France's 710 entries. The tail is the part of a directory that goes missing first, and it is the part worth keeping: the head of every country's list is the same handful of national broadcasters, and everything that makes a dial local is behind them.

With one recorded open, Jazz & Classique sits in the part of the directory where the numbers stop discriminating. The station's position in France's list should be read as approximate for exactly that reason.

The classic corner of France's dial is two stations deep in this snapshot. Small clusters like that are usually the most rewarding thing on a country page, because they are what the national broadcasters at the top of the list are not.

Its audio comes straight from jazz-wr17.ice.infomaniak.ch, an address unique to this entry in France's listing. That is the simplest case there is, and it is the one where pressing play tells you the whole truth about whether the station is on air.

The broadcaster publishes at jazzradio.fr, on France's own country domain. A national domain is a small piece of evidence that the station is what the directory says it is, since these are the harder ones to register from somewhere else.
