Radio Metal

This is one of the quieter entries in France's listing, at 668 of 710. Stations at this depth are usually community, religious or single genre broadcasters rather than national networks, and the country's numbered pages are the only route to them.

No opens have been recorded against Radio Metal in the public directory. Plenty of working stations sit at zero, because the count only rises when somebody plays the stream from a client that reports back, and most listening never touches the directory at all.

Radio Metal has no language recorded in the directory. We do not infer one. Guessing from the country would put every station in France on the same shelf regardless of what it broadcasts, which is exactly the kind of filled-in blank that makes a directory untrustworthy.

At 320 kbps, Radio Metal streams at more than double France's median of 128 kbps. That is a deliberate choice by whoever runs it: bandwidth is the recurring cost of an internet station, and a rate this far above the local norm is money spent on sounding better than the dial around it.

The stream is served from radio3.pro-fhi.net, an address one other entry in France uses as well. A small shared host is usually a group of stations under one owner or one technical provider rather than a platform.
