RTL 2

RTL 2 is at position 140 of the 710 stations in France with pages here, inside the top quarter of the national listing. That is high enough to be reached by browsing rather than by searching, which is how most of these pages are actually found.

The directory records no language for RTL 2. That gap is common and it is upstream of this site: broadcasters fill the field or they do not, and roughly a third of the stations with pages here have left it empty. It means the station appears on its country hub and not on any language shelf, which is the one place the omission costs it.

The stream runs at 128 kbps, level with France's median. Bitrate stops being interesting once a station is at the local norm, and the useful question moves on to whether the stream stays up, which no snapshot can answer.

The stream is served from icecast.rtl.fr, an address one other entry in France uses as well. A small shared host is usually a group of stations under one owner or one technical provider rather than a platform.

The broadcaster publishes at rtl2.fr, on France's own country domain. A national domain is a small piece of evidence that the station is what the directory says it is, since these are the harder ones to register from somewhere else.
