Skyrock PLM

Rank 529 of 710 in France. What that mostly measures is how many people have already found the station through this directory, which is a poor proxy for anything else and an honest one to publish.

One recorded open in the public directory. That is a trace rather than a measurement, and it is the reason this page describes where the station sits rather than how popular it is.

Nothing else in France's listing leads with militaire. The tag is self-declared, which makes it a statement of how the broadcaster positions itself rather than a classification anyone audited, and on this dial that statement is unique.

The format here is AAC+, against a listing for France overwhelmingly made of MP3. Both play in a browser; the difference shows up in how much quality survives at a given bitrate, where AAC has the advantage at lower rates.

Its audio comes from icecast.skyrock.net. Four other stations in France stream from the same host, which is a smaller sharing than the big platforms and often means the same people run them all.

Skyrock PLM publishes at skyrock.fm. Worth a note because .fm is a country domain that stopped meaning its country a long time ago: it is Micronesia's, and it is used by radio stations everywhere for the obvious reason.
