057 radio

Position 24 of 58 puts this station in the middle of Ghana's directory presence. The middle is worth browsing precisely because the ordering has stopped sorting by fame and has not yet stopped sorting at all.

With two recorded opens, 057 radio sits in the part of the directory where the numbers stop discriminating. The station's position in Ghana's list should be read as approximate for exactly that reason.

At 320 kbps, 057 radio streams at more than double Ghana's median of 128 kbps. That is a deliberate choice by whoever runs it: bandwidth is the recurring cost of an internet station, and a rate this far above the local norm is money spent on sounding better than the dial around it.

Its audio comes straight from audio.alter-media.hr, an address unique to this entry in Ghana's listing. That is the simplest case there is, and it is the one where pressing play tells you the whole truth about whether the station is on air.

The station's site is at 057info.hr, which sits under the .hr country domain rather than Ghana's. That mismatch is usually mundane, a host or a parent organisation registered elsewhere, and it is the kind of small inconsistency worth seeing rather than smoothing over.
