良友电台友音乐频道

Read as words rather than as a brand, the name says radio station, channel and music. That is the broadcaster's own description of the service, written in Chinese characters, and it is more specific than the tags the entry carries.

良友电台友音乐频道 sits in the tail of Hong Kong SAR China's 48 entries. The tail is the part of a directory that goes missing first, and it is the part worth keeping: the head of every country's list is the same handful of national broadcasters, and everything that makes a dial local is behind them.

This is a Chinese station in a country whose directory presence is led by Cantonese. 17 entries in Hong Kong SAR China broadcast in Chinese, which is a small group and a coherent one, and browsing it is a different experience from browsing the country.

The Chinese shelf on this site collects every station in the language regardless of where it transmits from, and the directory's Chinese entries are concentrated in China, Taiwan and United States. Reading the shelf next to this page is the quickest way to see how far the language's dial actually reaches.

The stream is served from c25.radioboss.fm:8334, which no other entry in Hong Kong SAR China uses in this snapshot. Nothing else in the listing shares its fate: if this address stops answering it is this broadcaster's own outage, and if it plays, it plays.
