One FM

At position 32 of 37, this is one of the stations in Lebanon that almost nobody arrives at by browsing. That is the case for having a page at all. A station reachable only by knowing its name is a station most directories lose.

One FM streams at 90 kbps, under Lebanon's median of 128 kbps. A lower rate is not automatically worse: speech carries perfectly well below the music threshold, and a station built for phones on a weak connection has a good reason to encode this way.

One FM streams in AAC while most of Lebanon's dial is MP3. Codec choice is mostly invisible to a listener, and it is one of the clearest fingerprints of which hosting provider a station uses, since providers default their customers into a format and few customers ever change it.

One FM publishes an HLS stream. That is a modern and perfectly good way to broadcast, and it is also why the button on this page may not start it: HLS needs a player that can read a playlist and fetch segments, which a browser audio tag does not do on its own.

Its audio comes from hms.pfs.gdn. One other station in Lebanon streams from the same host, which is a smaller sharing than the big platforms and often means the same people run them all.
