Konga103.7FM

Out of 56 entries in Nigeria, this one ranks 5. The upper quarter of a national list is an interesting place to be: well known enough to have accumulated opens, not so well known that it is the station everybody already had.

Konga103.7FM carries 3,943 recorded opens in the public directory, which puts it among the small group of streams that directory clients open constantly. Counts at this level are rare: the great majority of the 14,425 stations with pages here are in single or double figures.

Business is the station's own leading tag and no other entry in Nigeria uses it that way. Worth reading as self-description: the directory takes tags as broadcasters type them and does not reconcile them.

Konga103.7FM streams at 96 kbps, under Nigeria's median of 128 kbps. A lower rate is not automatically worse: speech carries perfectly well below the music threshold, and a station built for phones on a weak connection has a good reason to encode this way.

Its audio comes straight from lunar.citrus3.com:8124, an address unique to this entry in Nigeria's listing. That is the simplest case there is, and it is the one where pressing play tells you the whole truth about whether the station is on air.
