Rádio Elvas

Rádio Elvas sits in the tail of Portugal's 105 entries. The tail is the part of a directory that goes missing first, and it is the part worth keeping: the head of every country's list is the same handful of national broadcasters, and everything that makes a dial local is behind them.

One recorded open in the public directory. That is a trace rather than a measurement, and it is the reason this page describes where the station sits rather than how popular it is.

No language is recorded against this station. The field is optional in the public directory and a great many entries skip it, so an empty language says nothing about what you will hear when you press play. It does keep the station off the language shelves, since a shelf built on guesses would be worse than a shelf with holes.

128 kbps matches Portugal's median almost exactly. Most stations cluster here because most of them are using the same handful of hosting providers with the same default settings.

The stream is served from radios2.justweb.pt:8066, which no other entry in Portugal uses in this snapshot. Nothing else in the listing shares its fate: if this address stops answering it is this broadcaster's own outage, and if it plays, it plays.
