Kiss Millenium Hits

Kiss Millenium Hits is at 120 in a listing of 216. Read the rank as a rough position rather than a standing: the click counts in the middle of a long national list are close enough together that a handful of opens moves a station several places.

Kiss Millenium Hits shares its leading tag, 00s, with one other Romania entry. Across every country the directory has 52 stations leading with it, so the rail below is mostly a trip abroad.

Kiss Millenium Hits streams at 80 kbps, under Romania's median of 128 kbps. A lower rate is not automatically worse: speech carries perfectly well below the music threshold, and a station built for phones on a weak connection has a good reason to encode this way.

The format here is AAC, against a listing for Romania overwhelmingly made of MP3. Both play in a browser; the difference shows up in how much quality survives at a given bitrate, where AAC has the advantage at lower rates.

The audio comes from live.kissfm.ro, and 7 other stations in Romania are served from the same address. That is a streaming platform carrying many broadcasters rather than a station running its own server, which is worth knowing for a practical reason: when a platform has a bad night, a whole block of Romania's listing stops answering at once and nothing is wrong with any of the stations in it.
