Magic Gold Hits

Magic Gold Hits sits at 56 of 216 in Romania's listing, in the body of the list rather than at either end. This is where most of a national dial actually lives, and it is the part a country hub's first fifty rows never reach.

The classic hits corner of Romania's dial is two stations deep in this snapshot. Small clusters like that are usually the most rewarding thing on a country page, because they are what the national broadcasters at the top of the list are not.

Magic Gold Hits streams at 80 kbps, under Romania's median of 128 kbps. A lower rate is not automatically worse: speech carries perfectly well below the music threshold, and a station built for phones on a weak connection has a good reason to encode this way.

Where Romania's stations mostly use MP3, this one uses AAC. Worth a line only because it is a difference, and because the country page's format breakdown is one of the quicker ways to see which providers a national dial runs on.

The stream is served from live.magicfm.ro, an address two other entries in Romania use as well. A small shared host is usually a group of stations under one owner or one technical provider rather than a platform.
