Nostalgia Radio

This is one of the quieter entries in Romania's listing, at 186 of 216. Stations at this depth are usually community, religious or single genre broadcasters rather than national networks, and the country's numbered pages are the only route to them.

Nostalgia Radio has a zero in the directory's open count. It is the least interesting number on this page and the one most likely to be misread, so it is worth being plain: it measures traffic through radio-browser, not audience.

Nostalgia Radio shares its leading tag, 00s, with one other Romania entry. Across every country the directory has 52 stations leading with it, so the rail below is mostly a trip abroad.

The gap here is large: 64 kbps where Romania's stations typically run 128. Rates at this level were designed for dial-up and for mobile data that was billed by the megabyte, and plenty of stations simply never changed the setting.

Nostalgia Radio streams in AAC+ while most of Romania's dial is MP3. Codec choice is mostly invisible to a listener, and it is one of the clearest fingerprints of which hosting provider a station uses, since providers default their customers into a format and few customers ever change it.
