Radio Boom Rock

Radio Boom Rock sits in the tail of Romania's 216 entries. The tail is the part of a directory that goes missing first, and it is the part worth keeping: the head of every country's list is the same handful of national broadcasters, and everything that makes a dial local is behind them.

The directory records no opens at all for Radio Boom Rock. That is a fact about the directory rather than about the station: a stream nobody has opened through radio-browser can be perfectly healthy and well listened to on its own site or on a radio. It does mean this page is where the station's directory history starts.

The country's dial has two sizeable languages on it and this station is on the smaller one. 59 entries in Romania broadcast in English, against a listing whose commonest language is Romanian.

English radio in this directory sits largely in United States, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom, with 5,984 stations on the shelf in total. This page's station is one of the entries that make the shelf wider than any single country.

At 320 kbps, Radio Boom Rock streams at more than double Romania's median of 128 kbps. That is a deliberate choice by whoever runs it: bandwidth is the recurring cost of an internet station, and a rate this far above the local norm is money spent on sounding better than the dial around it.
