Radio RFM

This is one of the quieter entries in Romania's listing, at 198 of 216. Stations at this depth are usually community, religious or single genre broadcasters rather than national networks, and the country's numbered pages are the only route to them.

No opens have been recorded against Radio RFM in the public directory. Plenty of working stations sit at zero, because the count only rises when somebody plays the stream from a client that reports back, and most listening never touches the directory at all.

Hits is the station's own leading tag and no other entry in Romania uses it that way. Worth reading as self-description: the directory takes tags as broadcasters type them and does not reconcile them.

At 320 kbps, Radio RFM streams at more than double Romania's median of 128 kbps. That is a deliberate choice by whoever runs it: bandwidth is the recurring cost of an internet station, and a rate this far above the local norm is money spent on sounding better than the dial around it.

Its audio comes from shout.realitatea.net:8001. One other station in Romania streams from the same host, which is a smaller sharing than the big platforms and often means the same people run them all.
