Радио Мир (Барнаул)

Радио Мир (Барнаул) says radio and world in Cyrillic. A name that describes its own programming is worth reading rather than skipping, because it is a fact stated by the broadcaster rather than a tag added by whoever filed the entry into Russia's listing.

Радио Мир (Барнаул) sits in the tail of Russia's 471 entries. The tail is the part of a directory that goes missing first, and it is the part worth keeping: the head of every country's list is the same handful of national broadcasters, and everything that makes a dial local is behind them.

Nothing else in Russia's listing leads with barnaul. The tag is self-declared, which makes it a statement of how the broadcaster positions itself rather than a classification anyone audited, and on this dial that statement is unique.

286 kbps against Russia's median of 128. Streams at this rate are the ones worth finding a good pair of headphones for, and they are uncommon: 53% of the country's stations reach 128 kbps at all.

The stream is served from icecast-mirtv.cdnvideo.ru, an address one other entry in Russia uses as well. A small shared host is usually a group of stations under one owner or one technical provider rather than a platform.
