Хайповые Двадцатые - Русское Радио

Read as words rather than as a brand, the name says radio. That is the broadcaster's own description of the service, written in Cyrillic, and it is more specific than the tags the entry carries.

Хайповые Двадцатые - Русское Радио sits in the tail of Russia's 471 entries. The tail is the part of a directory that goes missing first, and it is the part worth keeping: the head of every country's list is the same handful of national broadcasters, and everything that makes a dial local is behind them.

Among 471 stations in Russia here, this is the only one that puts русская популярная музыка first. The русская популярная музыка rail below therefore leaves the country entirely, which is the more interesting direction to travel from a page like this.

Хайповые Двадцатые - Русское Радио streams at 96 kbps, under Russia's median of 128 kbps. A lower rate is not automatically worse: speech carries perfectly well below the music threshold, and a station built for phones on a weak connection has a good reason to encode this way.

The stream is served from rr-20.hostingradio.ru, which no other entry in Russia uses in this snapshot. Nothing else in the listing shares its fate: if this address stops answering it is this broadcaster's own outage, and if it plays, it plays.
