Радио МИР says radio in Cyrillic. A name that describes its own programming is worth reading rather than skipping, because it is a fact stated by the broadcaster rather than a tag added by whoever filed the entry into Russia's listing.

Out of 471 entries in Russia, this one ranks 49. The upper quarter of a national list is an interesting place to be: well known enough to have accumulated opens, not so well known that it is the station everybody already had.

At 334 kbps, Радио МИР streams at more than double Russia's median of 128 kbps. That is a deliberate choice by whoever runs it: bandwidth is the recurring cost of an internet station, and a rate this far above the local norm is money spent on sounding better than the dial around it.

The station's own site is radiomir.fm. The .fm domain has nothing to do with FM radio or with where a station is: it belongs to the Federated States of Micronesia and has been sold to broadcasters worldwide for years, so read it as branding rather than as a location.
