Вести ФМ

Вести ФМ says news in Cyrillic. A name that describes its own programming is worth reading rather than skipping, because it is a fact stated by the broadcaster rather than a tag added by whoever filed the entry into Russia's listing.

At 21 recorded opens, Вести ФМ is one of the streams that people actually reach through the public directory rather than through a station's own app. The count is the whole basis of the ranking on this site, and it is worth knowing that it measures directory traffic specifically.

Вести ФМ streams at 64 kbps against Russia's median of 128, which is less than half the local norm. On a dial where 53% of stations reach 128 kbps, a rate this low stands out, and it usually means either a speech station that never needed more or an encoder that has not been touched in years.

The audio comes from icecast-vgtrk.cdnvideo.ru, and 10 other stations in Russia are served from the same address. That is a streaming platform carrying many broadcasters rather than a station running its own server, which is worth knowing for a practical reason: when a platform has a bad night, a whole block of Russia's listing stops answering at once and nothing is wrong with any of the stations in it.
