Radio Apintie

At position 6 of 6, this is one of the stations in Suriname that almost nobody arrives at by browsing. That is the case for having a page at all. A station reachable only by knowing its name is a station most directories lose.

Suriname's entries all carry very low open counts, the highest of them in single figures. That means the country's ordering on this site is close to arbitrary, and it is better to browse it than to trust it. The counts come from the public directory and we publish them as they are rather than dressing them up.

Radio Apintie has no language recorded in the directory. We do not infer one. Guessing from the country would put every station in Suriname on the same shelf regardless of what it broadcasts, which is exactly the kind of filled-in blank that makes a directory untrustworthy.

The gap here is large: 64 kbps where Suriname's stations typically run 192. Rates at this level were designed for dial-up and for mobile data that was billed by the megabyte, and plenty of stations simply never changed the setting.

Radio Apintie streams from surilive.com:8000. No other station in Suriname is served from that address, and across the whole directory it appears one time in total.
