Süper FM 99.9

In Türkiye's ordering this is number 144 of 369, which is the middle of the list. The stations either side of it are a better guide to what the country sounds like than the head of the list is, because the head is the same few famous streams in every country.

This is a Kurdish station in a country whose directory presence is led by Turkish. 13 entries in Türkiye broadcast in Kurdish, which is a small group and a coherent one, and browsing it is a different experience from browsing the country.

Kurdish is not large enough in this snapshot to have a shelf of its own here, so the station's only index is its country. Shelves are built from the directory's commonest broadcast languages and the line has to fall somewhere; below it, the country hub is the route.

Süper FM 99.9 streams at 64 kbps against Türkiye's median of 128, which is less than half the local norm. On a dial where 64% of stations reach 128 kbps, a rate this low stands out, and it usually means either a speech station that never needed more or an encoder that has not been touched in years.

Its audio comes straight from yayin.superfmradyo.com.tr, an address unique to this entry in Türkiye's listing. That is the simplest case there is, and it is the one where pressing play tells you the whole truth about whether the station is on air.
