Одесса радио

Out of 125 entries in Ukraine, this one ranks 29. The upper quarter of a national list is an interesting place to be: well known enough to have accumulated opens, not so well known that it is the station everybody already had.

Одесса радио broadcasts in Russian from Ukraine, one of eight stations there that do. The country's dial is mostly Ukrainian, so these eight entries are a minority language cluster inside a national listing rather than the listing itself.

The Russian shelf on this site collects every station in the language regardless of where it transmits from, and the directory's Russian entries are concentrated in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. Reading the shelf next to this page is the quickest way to see how far the language's dial actually reaches.

The stream is 128 kbps where Ukraine's median is 192. Below the country's middle, which usually points at an older encoder or a deliberate choice to stay light, and matters far more for music than for talk.

Its audio comes straight from listen6.myradio24.com, an address unique to this entry in Ukraine's listing. That is the simplest case there is, and it is the one where pressing play tells you the whole truth about whether the station is on air.
