Радио НВ

Read as words rather than as a brand, the name says radio. That is the broadcaster's own description of the service, written in Cyrillic, and it is more specific than the tags the entry carries.

Held against the 125 stations in Ukraine on this site, this one is in the leading three. The order is the directory's count of stream opens rather than anybody's judgement, which is worth saying because a leading position on a list like this reflects habit as much as anything else.

Радио НВ has 25 recorded opens in the public directory, which is a real number by the standards of this data set. Most entries never reach double figures, so a count at this level means the stream has been found and played repeatedly by people using directory clients rather than the broadcaster's own site.

At 256 kbps the stream is on the better side of Ukraine's dial, where the median is 192 kbps. Not dramatically so, and bitrate is only one of several things that decide whether a stream sounds good, but it is the one the directory records.

Its audio comes straight from online-radio.nv.ua, an address unique to this entry in Ukraine's listing. That is the simplest case there is, and it is the one where pressing play tells you the whole truth about whether the station is on air.
