24/7 London Radio - Royalty Free Music

24/7 London Radio - Royalty Free Music sits in the tail of the United Kingdom's 466 entries. The tail is the part of a directory that goes missing first, and it is the part worth keeping: the head of every country's list is the same handful of national broadcasters, and everything that makes a dial local is behind them.

With one recorded open, 24/7 London Radio - Royalty Free Music sits in the part of the directory where the numbers stop discriminating. The station's position in the United Kingdom's list should be read as approximate for exactly that reason.

Only two entries in the United Kingdom put 24/7 first. The tag is self-declared and inconsistent between countries, which is why the rail below is worth more as a way of wandering than as a filter.

The gap here is large: 64 kbps where the United Kingdom's stations typically run 128. Rates at this level were designed for dial-up and for mobile data that was billed by the megabyte, and plenty of stations simply never changed the setting.

The stream is served from ec3.yesstreaming.net:3645, which no other entry in the United Kingdom uses in this snapshot. Nothing else in the listing shares its fate: if this address stops answering it is this broadcaster's own outage, and if it plays, it plays.
