CAPITAL DANCE: The UK's Official Dance Station

CAPITAL DANCE: The UK's Official Dance Station is at position 13 of the 466 stations in the United Kingdom with pages here, inside the top quarter of the national listing. That is high enough to be reached by browsing rather than by searching, which is how most of these pages are actually found.

The directory counts 51 opens against this stream. That is well above the United Kingdom's median and it is the reason the station sits where it does on the country list, since the ordering is the count and nothing else.

The capital corner of the United Kingdom's dial is three stations deep in this snapshot. Small clusters like that are usually the most rewarding thing on a country page, because they are what the national broadcasters at the top of the list are not.

The gap here is large: 48 kbps where the United Kingdom's stations typically run 128. Rates at this level were designed for dial-up and for mobile data that was billed by the megabyte, and plenty of stations simply never changed the setting.

27 of the United Kingdom's entries are served from media-ssl.musicradio.com, this one among them. A shared host means a shared fate. If this stream is silent, the fastest check is not this station's own site but whether its neighbours on the same platform are playing.
