WALM 2 HD

WALM 2 HD is at position 6 of the 1,481 stations in the United States with pages here, inside the top quarter of the national listing. That is high enough to be reached by browsing rather than by searching, which is how most of these pages are actually found.

With 226 opens recorded, this is one of the directory's heavily played streams. That is the strongest thing the public data says about any station, and it is still a measure of traffic through one directory rather than of audience.

Three stations in the United States lead with the tag choral, and WALM 2 HD is one of them. That is a small enough group to hear end to end, and the tags are the broadcasters' own words rather than a classification imposed here.

Twice the local median and then some: 320 kbps where the United States' stations typically manage 128. Whether you can hear the difference depends entirely on what you are listening on, but the headroom is there.

The audio comes from icecast.walmradio.com:8443, and 10 other stations in the United States are served from the same address. That is a streaming platform carrying many broadcasters rather than a station running its own server, which is worth knowing for a practical reason: when a platform has a bad night, a whole block of the United States' listing stops answering at once and nothing is wrong with any of the stations in it.
