南方生活广播

南方生活广播 says lifestyle radio in Chinese characters. A name that describes its own programming is worth reading rather than skipping, because it is a fact stated by the broadcaster rather than a tag added by whoever filed the entry into China's listing.

In China's ordering this is number 138 of 391, which is the middle of the list. The stations either side of it are a better guide to what the country sounds like than the head of the list is, because the head is the same few famous streams in every country.

Broadcasting in Cantonese from China, alongside 33 other stations there doing the same. Chinese is the country's commonest broadcast language in this directory, so this is the second shelf of a bilingual listing.

The shelf for the language holds 65 stations, led by Hong Kong SAR China. A station like this one broadcasting from China is what stops that shelf from being a second copy of one country's hub.

The audio comes from lhttp.qtfm.cn, and 89 other stations in China are served from the same address. That is a streaming platform carrying many broadcasters rather than a station running its own server, which is worth knowing for a practical reason: when a platform has a bad night, a whole block of China's listing stops answering at once and nothing is wrong with any of the stations in it.
