Deutschlandradio sits at 512 of 1,409 in Germany's listing, in the body of the list rather than at either end. This is where most of a national dial actually lives, and it is the part a country hub's first fifty rows never reach.

Deutschlandradio is the only station in Germany whose first tag is world, out of 1,409 with pages here. Tags come from the broadcasters themselves, so this says the station describes itself in a way no other entry in Germany does, which is a narrower and more honest claim than saying it is the country's only world station.

The gap here is large: 64 kbps where Germany's stations typically run 128. Rates at this level were designed for dial-up and for mobile data that was billed by the megabyte, and plenty of stations simply never changed the setting.
