Rockantenne Gothic

Rockantenne Gothic sits in the tail of Germany's 1,409 entries. The tail is the part of a directory that goes missing first, and it is the part worth keeping: the head of every country's list is the same handful of national broadcasters, and everything that makes a dial local is behind them.

With three recorded opens, Rockantenne Gothic sits in the part of the directory where the numbers stop discriminating. The station's position in Germany's list should be read as approximate for exactly that reason.

Rockantenne Gothic has no language recorded in the directory. We do not infer one. Guessing from the country would put every station in Germany on the same shelf regardless of what it broadcasts, which is exactly the kind of filled-in blank that makes a directory untrustworthy.

The gothic corner of Germany's dial is three stations deep in this snapshot. Small clusters like that are usually the most rewarding thing on a country page, because they are what the national broadcasters at the top of the list are not.

The audio comes from stream.rockantenne.de, and 14 other stations in Germany are served from the same address. That is a streaming platform carrying many broadcasters rather than a station running its own server, which is worth knowing for a practical reason: when a platform has a bad night, a whole block of Germany's listing stops answering at once and nothing is wrong with any of the stations in it.
