Air telugu

Language and country do not match up the obvious way here. Air telugu transmits from India, where Hindi leads the listing, and broadcasts in Telugu, which 19 of the country's stations use.

Telugu is not large enough in this snapshot to have a shelf of its own here, so the station's only index is its country. Shelves are built from the directory's commonest broadcast languages and the line has to fall somewhere; below it, the country hub is the route.

Air telugu is the only station in India whose first tag is telugu, out of 565 with pages here. Tags come from the broadcasters themselves, so this says the station describes itself in a way no other entry in India does, which is a narrower and more honest claim than saying it is the country's only telugu station.

At 64 kbps this is one of the lowest rate streams on India's dial, whose median is 128 kbps. It will hold a connection almost anywhere, which is the tradeoff being made.

Its audio comes from stream-151.zeno.fm. One other station in India streams from the same host, which is a smaller sharing than the big platforms and often means the same people run them all.
