thendralradio

thendralradio sits in the tail of India's 565 entries. The tail is the part of a directory that goes missing first, and it is the part worth keeping: the head of every country's list is the same handful of national broadcasters, and everything that makes a dial local is behind them.

No opens have been recorded against thendralradio in the public directory. Plenty of working stations sit at zero, because the count only rises when somebody plays the stream from a client that reports back, and most listening never touches the directory at all.

thendralradio broadcasts in Tamil from India. That is a minority language on the national dial, where Hindi leads, but not a small one: 161 stations in India in the directory carry Tamil, which is a substantial second listing inside the first.

Where else Tamil is on air, according to the same snapshot: mostly Canada, Singapore and Sri Lanka. The shelf lists all 169 of them together, which is the view a country hub cannot give.

The stream is 96 kbps where India's median is 128. Below the country's middle, which usually points at an older encoder or a deliberate choice to stay light, and matters far more for music than for talk.
