vadivelucomedyradio

vadivelucomedyradio is deep in India's listing, at 352 of 565. Down here the ordering barely orders anything: the difference between one position and the next is often a single recorded open, so treat the neighbours below as a shelf rather than as a ranking.

The country's dial has two sizeable languages on it and this station is on the smaller one. 161 entries in India broadcast in Tamil, against a listing whose commonest language is Hindi.

Where else Tamil is on air, according to the same snapshot: mostly Canada, Singapore and Sri Lanka. The shelf lists all 169 of them together, which is the view a country hub cannot give.

The stream runs at 128 kbps, level with India's median. Bitrate stops being interesting once a station is at the local norm, and the useful question moves on to whether the stream stays up, which no snapshot can answer.

The audio comes from stream.zeno.fm, and 108 other stations in India are served from the same address. That is a streaming platform carrying many broadcasters rather than a station running its own server, which is worth knowing for a practical reason: when a platform has a bad night, a whole block of India's listing stops answering at once and nothing is wrong with any of the stations in it.
