Antenna Web Assisi

Antenna Web Assisi sits in the tail of Italy's 400 entries. The tail is the part of a directory that goes missing first, and it is the part worth keeping: the head of every country's list is the same handful of national broadcasters, and everything that makes a dial local is behind them.

Broadcasting in English from Italy, alongside 51 other stations there doing the same. Italian is the country's commonest broadcast language in this directory, so this is the second shelf of a bilingual listing.

The English shelf on this site collects every station in the language regardless of where it transmits from, and the directory's English entries are concentrated in United States, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom. Reading the shelf next to this page is the quickest way to see how far the language's dial actually reaches.

Assisi is the station's own leading tag and no other entry in Italy uses it that way. Worth reading as self-description: the directory takes tags as broadcasters type them and does not reconcile them.

At 320 kbps, Antenna Web Assisi streams at more than double Italy's median of 128 kbps. That is a deliberate choice by whoever runs it: bandwidth is the recurring cost of an internet station, and a rate this far above the local norm is money spent on sounding better than the dial around it.
