ITALIA Italia 80

The directory lists four streams in Italy under this name, told apart by a number alone. This page is number eighty. Nothing here is taken from the other three.

Out of 400 entries in Italy, this one ranks 35. The upper quarter of a national list is an interesting place to be: well known enough to have accumulated opens, not so well known that it is the station everybody already had.

80s is one of Italy's headline genres in this directory, and ITALIA Italia 80 is one of 7 stations there leading with it. The country hub prints the same tag near the top of its own list, so this station sits inside the country's main sound rather than off to one side.

Worldwide it ranks 10 among 131 80s entries, which is worth roughly as much as the count behind it and no more.

The audio comes from icy.unitedradio.it, and 32 other stations in Italy are served from the same address. That is a streaming platform carrying many broadcasters rather than a station running its own server, which is worth knowing for a practical reason: when a platform has a bad night, a whole block of Italy's listing stops answering at once and nothing is wrong with any of the stations in it.
