Café del Mar

Out of 487 entries in Spain, this one ranks 11. The upper quarter of a national list is an interesting place to be: well known enough to have accumulated opens, not so well known that it is the station everybody already had.

At 58 recorded opens, Café del Mar is one of the streams that people actually reach through the public directory rather than through a station's own app. The count is the whole basis of the ranking on this site, and it is worth knowing that it measures directory traffic specifically.

The chillout corner of Spain's dial is two stations deep in this snapshot. Small clusters like that are usually the most rewarding thing on a country page, because they are what the national broadcasters at the top of the list are not.

Worldwide it ranks 3 among 66 chillout entries, which is worth roughly as much as the count behind it and no more.

At 192 kbps the stream is on the better side of Spain's dial, where the median is 128 kbps. Not dramatically so, and bitrate is only one of several things that decide whether a stream sounds good, but it is the one the directory records.
