Smooth Country

The directory counts 28 opens against this stream. That is well above the United Kingdom's median and it is the reason the station sits where it does on the country list, since the ordering is the count and nothing else.

Only two entries in the United Kingdom put country first. The tag is self-declared and inconsistent between countries, which is why the rail below is worth more as a way of wandering than as a filter.

Across every country, Smooth Country is 2 of the 80 stations leading with country, by the same open count the country list uses.

Smooth Country streams at 48 kbps against the United Kingdom's median of 128, which is less than half the local norm. On a dial where 69% of stations reach 128 kbps, a rate this low stands out, and it usually means either a speech station that never needed more or an encoder that has not been touched in years.

The stream address on this entry points at media-ssl.musicradio.com, which is where 26 other stations in the United Kingdom are served from as well. Platforms of that size carry the long tail of a country's dial, and they are the reason a listing can look broken when it is one host having a quiet hour.
