99.9 Kiss Country

Out of 1,481 entries in the United States, this one ranks 36. The upper quarter of a national list is an interesting place to be: well known enough to have accumulated opens, not so well known that it is the station everybody already had.

The directory counts 37 opens against this stream. That is well above the United States' median and it is the reason the station sits where it does on the country list, since the ordering is the count and nothing else.

Country is one of the United States' headline genres in this directory, and 99.9 Kiss Country is one of 30 stations there leading with it. The country hub prints the same tag near the top of its own list, so this station sits inside the country's main sound rather than off to one side.

Across every country, 99.9 Kiss Country is 1 of the 80 stations leading with country, by the same open count the country list uses.

The audio comes from stream.revma.ihrhls.com, and 176 other stations in the United States are served from the same address. That is a streaming platform carrying many broadcasters rather than a station running its own server, which is worth knowing for a practical reason: when a platform has a bad night, a whole block of the United States' listing stops answering at once and nothing is wrong with any of the stations in it.
