SomaFM Dub Step Beyond (128k MP3)

The directory lists two streams in the United States under this name, told apart by a number alone. This page is number three. Nothing here is taken from the other one.

SomaFM Dub Step Beyond (128k MP3) is at 784 in a listing of 1,481. Read the rank as a rough position rather than a standing: the click counts in the middle of a long national list are close enough together that a handful of opens moves a station several places.

Two recorded opens in the public directory. That is a trace rather than a measurement, and it is the reason this page describes where the station sits rather than how popular it is.

Only three entries in the United States put deep bass first. The tag is self-declared and inconsistent between countries, which is why the rail below is worth more as a way of wandering than as a filter.

The stream address on this entry points at ice6.somafm.com, which is where 36 other stations in the United States are served from as well. Platforms of that size carry the long tail of a country's dial, and they are the reason a listing can look broken when it is one host having a quiet hour.

SomaFM Dub Step Beyond (128k MP3) and SomaFM Dub Step Beyond (128k AAC) are described by the directory in very nearly the same fields, which makes the differences between them worth stating rather than leaving to be inferred. The number each one is named for is the difference between them: three here and one hundred and twenty-eight there. This one is encoded as MP3 and that one as AAC, which is a difference a browser can hear about before you can.
