SomaFM Lush (128k MP3)

Position 87 of 1,481 in the United States. The ordering is a click count and nothing more, but at this depth it still separates stations meaningfully, which stops being true further down the same list.

The station's language is English, the commonest of the six the directory records for the United States. Language is one of the two axes this site indexes on, and the English shelf collects these stations across every country that carries them.

Electronic covers 12 of the United States' entries. Tags on this site are always the broadcaster's own first tag and never a second one, because a station tagged five ways would otherwise appear on five shelves and turn each of them into a tag cloud.

On the same tag worldwide it is 6 of 74, which is inside the top quarter of every electronic station the directory carries.

SomaFM Lush (128k MP3) streams at 128 kbps, which is exactly where the United States' dial sits: the country's median is 128 kbps. Being unremarkable on this axis is the normal case and it is fine. 49% of the country's stations reach 128 kbps or better.

37 of the United States' entries are served from ice6.somafm.com, this one among them. A shared host means a shared fate. If this stream is silent, the fastest check is not this station's own site but whether its neighbours on the same platform are playing.
