SomaFM Chillits (128k AAC)

Among the 1,481 stations in the United States with pages, SomaFM Chillits (128k AAC) is around the halfway mark. Anything in this stretch is reachable from the country's numbered pages rather than from its front table, which is why those pages exist.

With three recorded opens, SomaFM Chillits (128k AAC) sits in the part of the directory where the numbers stop discriminating. The station's position in the United States' list should be read as approximate for exactly that reason.

SomaFM Chillits (128k AAC) broadcasts in English, which is the language most of the United States' stations in the directory use. The country's listing records six languages in total, so the English stations are the body of the dial rather than the whole of it.

Tagged ambient, along with 52 other stations in the country and 171 across the directory.

Encoded as AAC, one of the three formats the United States' stations use. The country page breaks all of them out with counts.

The audio comes from ice5.somafm.com, and 31 other stations in the United States are served from the same address. That is a streaming platform carrying many broadcasters rather than a station running its own server, which is worth knowing for a practical reason: when a platform has a bad night, a whole block of the United States' listing stops answering at once and nothing is wrong with any of the stations in it.
