SomaFM Groove Salad (128k AAC)

SomaFM Groove Salad (128k AAC) is one of three entries in the United States whose names are the same but for a number, and this one's number is one hundred and twenty-eight. A broadcaster numbering its streams like that is separating feeds, not stations, so read the number as the part that matters.

In the United States' listing SomaFM Groove Salad (128k AAC) lands at 71 of 1,481, which puts it on the first or second page of the country hub rather than in its tail.

SomaFM Groove Salad (128k AAC) has 22 recorded opens in the public directory, which is a real number by the standards of this data set. Most entries never reach double figures, so a count at this level means the stream has been found and played repeatedly by people using directory clients rather than the broadcaster's own site.

The audio comes from ice6.somafm.com, and 36 other stations in the United States are served from the same address. That is a streaming platform carrying many broadcasters rather than a station running its own server, which is worth knowing for a practical reason: when a platform has a bad night, a whole block of the United States' listing stops answering at once and nothing is wrong with any of the stations in it.
